TRIED & TESTED: Yves Rocher – Anti-Pollution Haircare

When talking about an urban lifestyle, the words ‘urbanpollution‘ instantly come to mind. While the rapidly deteriorating air quality in our urban jungles can take their toll on both lungs and skin, it affects our hair, too. But that’s nothing Yves Rocher’s Anti-Pollution range can’t fix.

Air pollution affects the health of your scalp and hair. While scalps protect themselves by getting greasier quicker (clever, but not the best look), there’s little your actual hair can do. Yves Rocher’s Anti-Pollution collection helps you out in that department.

The collection’s shampoo and conditioner gently cleanse your hair, allowing it to breathe and restoring its natural shine. The shampoo’s micellar formula feels mild on the skin and produces a lovely lather. I like how this feels when using it: light, foamy but not stripping at all.

While I love the shampoo, I’m not that into the conditioner. It’s very basic, but not in the best way. It’s supposed to shield your hair from any damage and pollution, but it doesn’t make my hair feel soft and leaves it rather streaky. It is, however, silicone-free, 98% natural and the packaging is completely recyclable – a big plus when you’re on the lookout for an environmentally-friendly beauty routine.

If you want the go the extra mile, try adding a scalp scrub to your routine. I’ve never tried one before, so I was excited to see that Yves Rocher added one to this range. The Anti-Pollution Detox Scrub Scalp is formulated with sea salt and moringa seeds and has a thick, white consistency with coarse bits of salt.

It’s a natural scrub that you use before your shampoo and conditioner, allowing you to really get to the roots of the problem. I do feel like it takes quite a bit of product to exfoliate your entire scalp, so I do see this running out quickly. I don’t use this every time I wash my hair, but I like to mix it into the routine about once a week.

All product are available in-store at Yves Rocher or online at yves-rocher.be. Have you tried anything by Yves Rocher before? Let me know in the comments!
