FRIDAY FAVOURITE: La Roche Posay – Toleriane Ultra 8 Daily Soothing Hydrating Concentrate

In my years as a beauty enthusiast/hoarder/editor/blogger, I’ve tried more skincare products than I can count. Some good, some bad – but all of them full of promises of healthier and better-looking skin. Since I’ve experienced some flare-ups of eczema over the past years, I went back to basics and started using Toleriane products by La Roche-Posay in an attempt to keep skin irritations at bay. And successfully: my skin is calmer and I haven’t experienced eczema in over a year. Reason for me to try another product of the Toleriane range: the Toleriane Ultra 8 Daily Soothing Hydrating Concentrate.

I’ve been using the Toleriane Ultra Fluide as my daily moisturiser for over a year now. I use it in the mornings, and apply Kerium DS (also by La Roche Posay) at night. It’s a combination that works for me, but it can get a little boring after a while – especially for someone always on the lookout for the newest innovation in skincare. So after hearing good things about the Toleriane Ultra 8 spray, I figured: why not?

Next to being quite the mouthful, Toleriane Ultra 8 Daily Soothing Hydrating Concentrate is a daily soothing and hydrating spray suitable for sensitive skin types – even those prone to an allergic reaction. It’s formulated without using alcohol or perfume and it’s also non-comedogenic. It’s safe to spray on you face daily and is meant to protect and strengthen the skin’s natural barrier.

I like my skincare ritual to be quick and effective, so I didn’t add this as an extra step per se. The way I like to use this is pretty random: I either have it standing on my vanity or by my desk when I’m working. Whenever I feel like a quick spritz, I spray this on my face to feel refreshed and more awake in general.

While I don’t notice a huge difference with regular use, I do like the refreshing qualities this spray offers and I do enjoy taking that quick beauty break now and then. In comparison to other facial sprays, I like that this one doesn’t have an overpowering fragrance (looking at you, Origins) and I love that it’s completely in sync with my skin. Overall, I think it’s a great addition to my current La Roche Posay-themed routine. That being said, I feel like, for me, it’s more of a product that I like to use rather than a product I need to use.

You can find La Roche Posay products at (online pharmacies). The Toleriane Ultra 8 Daily Soothing Hydrating Concentrate retails for about € 13 to € 16, depending on where you get it.
