In times where we wash our hands approximately 99 times a day, good hand soap can save you. Let me introduce you to my favourite.
Not to be that person, but I’ve used and loved the hand soaps by &Other Stories for years. It started as a scent-crush on the now-discontinued Belleville Bakery, and ended with me buying these bright-coloured hand soaps time and again. I have a variety of these pretty bottles scattered all over the house – from the sink to the bathroom and my secret stash in the attic.
&Other Stories describes their hand soap as ‘everyday indulgent washes that ensure hands are perfectly cleansed, cared for and delightfully scented‘ – and I can 100% vouch for that. The packaging is convenient, the bottle is pretty and the product itself delivers on its promises – all while leaving your hands subtly scented.
Most soaps are a pastel shade, some – like Perle de Coco – look opaque and slightly different. Each bottle comes with a matching hand lotion – a detail I love. It looks put-together on the sink, and I like that you can layer the scents. The hand lotion is good, too: light, nourishing and not sticky. You can buy the lotions and soaps individually, but they’re also available in gift sets. They have tubes of the hand lotion for on-the-go, too.
The hand soaps and lotions have become a staple in this household. I do have to say that, in light of COVID-10, the lotions aren’t nourishing enough to save my super-dry hands. My skin got very dehydrated from using aggressive disinfecting solutions at the office, and not even the hand cream formulated by my dermatologist has managed to repair the damage. But – in normal conditions – they’re a quick and user-friendly way to hydrate your hands.

Sicilian Sunrise and Avant-Garde Air currently are my favourite scents, but I have to admit that I might get suckered in by the alliterations.
