TRIED & TESTED: Too Faced – Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette | Beauty Review | himartine.com

Being unemployed is a bitch but finding a new job and having people giving you presents to celebrate said job almost makes it worth it.

I’m kidding. But the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow palette that my sister Anne gave me to celebrate my new job did make it worth it. I’ve wanted a Too Faced palette ever since JuicyStar07 used the Natural Eye palette back in 2011 and voila – 8 years later – here we are. (Still mildly obsessed by anything Blair Fowler but that might be the omghhkp-nostalgia talking.)

The product

The Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette is one of the brand’s more recent launches. With virtue in its variety, it comes with eighteen shades ranging from versatile neutrals to popping pinks, corals and purples. I like that it covers the basics without giving you the feeling like you’ve seen it all before. The fresh and brighter shades are a great addition to the colour palette.

The Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette comes with a little guide, in case you’re pretty new to make-up and you need some help thinking of shades that work well together. It’s a fun suggestion, but tbh I never really use these.

The palette comes in a protective cardboard sleeve, giving you some insight into the how and why of it all.

The review

While I wouldn’t recommend travelling with this packaging (it doesn’t seem to close that well), I do like the packaging. It’s fun, colourful and perfectly on-brand for what they’re presenting. I love how each shade has its own name and that the names are printed above each eyeshadow shade. I also like the scent: a sweet peach – what’s in a name. The scent doesn’t linger on your eyelids, but I can imagine that if you’re sensitive to perfume in products, this might not to be the one for you.

On to the swatches! F.l.t.r.: White Peach, Nectar, Peaches ‘n Cream, Luscious, Cobbler, Georgia. Some good highlights and I love shades like Luscious and Cobbler when I only feel like going for a quick wash of colour over the lid.

Next, f.l.t.r.: Just Peachy, Candied Peach, Caramelized, Bless Her Heart, Bellini, Puree. The shimmery shades are pretty intense. I found Puree to be a tad chalky and I didn’t love the chunky glitter in Candied Peach.

Last but not least, f.l.t.r.: Tempting, Peach Pit, Summer Yum, Charmed I’m Sure, Delectable and Talk Derby To Me. At first glance, I thought Tempting and Talk Derby To Me would be too similar, but Tempting is the clear winner here. I think Peach Pit is beautiful and I was surprised how wearable Delectable is. I love shades like Charmed I’m Sure as a quick crease colour to add definition to the eye.

Tempting was so tempting that I couldn’t get it off even if I tried. I’ve used wipes and micellar here but it wouldn’t budge.

You’ve been warned.

Overall, I think this is a great buy if you’re looking for a diverse palette that covers the basics but does more than just that. This has definitely led me to incorporate more peach and purple shades into my looks.

The price

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette retails for $ 49/€ 49,90. There’s a #FOTD using this palette coming soon!

Thanks, A.
