If you’re looking to protect your skin from sun damage, but don’t feel like looking like a grease central 24/7, Glossier’s Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen + might be the one for you.

The Sunscreen Diaries

Confession time: I don’t use sunscreen on a daily basis. I’m not exposed to the sun for a prolonged time on a daily basis, and – even though I know better – I didn’t feel the need to work SPF into my everyday routine. Most facial sunscreens are milky, white and – NGL – greasy af, which is not a combination I like for my skin. But Glossier’s Invisible Shield changes everything.

The product

I’ve never met a product that lives up to its name quite as much as this one does. Glossier’s Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen + does what it says. With its SPF 30, (for some reason it’s 30 in Europe and SPF 35 in the US?) it protects your skin from sun damage and does so while being completely invisible. A clear, gel-like consistency, it is ideal for those with a greasy T-zone like mine. The product applies like a dream and doesn’t leave my face looking/feeling like a mess.

An added bonus? It seeps into my skin in no-time. It makes for a perfect base for my make-up, which I love. It’s the first facial sunscreen that I can actually see myself using on a day-to-day basis.

One thing, though: don’t use this one sparingly. I applied one pump on my first day of using this and felt like I had covered everything. However, something in the combination of sunny Italy and the crisp white slopes was too much for this one. While I didn’t end up burned, my skin had tanned more than I’d like and my nose was peeling within days. Not the cutest look – especially combined with the mark my sunglasses left on top of my ever-so-tan nose. Forever glam, yours truly.

Pricing & Availabilty

Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen + is available at Glossier, both in-store and online for € 24 (1 oz/30 ml).
