The Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara by L’Oréal Paris has made quite the impression on the beauty society since its launch a couple of months ago. Eager to see what the buzz was all about, I bought this one during my trip to NYC. Over in Europe, however, it’s more likely you’ll find this mascara under the name ‘Paradise Extatic’ – different name, same need-to-try product.
I’m completely and utterly in love with Covergirl’s budget friendly mascaras and just last year, Bourjois’ Volume Reveal swept me off my feet. I’m all for drugstore mascaras, but they have to live up to certain standards to become a fulltime part of my beauty routine.
This formula promises 91% added volume and up to 98% added length – which, for a product that also promises to nourish the lashes thanks to castor oil, sounds pretty good. The brush is constructed to an hourglass shape so it’s able to reach every single lash.
I often find it difficult to coat all my lashes in mascara. I have pretty good lashes – thanks to a nourishing and conditioning eyelash serum – but I have trouble applying mascara to my outer lashes. They sometimes end up crooked or I’ll get clumsy and cover most of my eyelid with black patches – not in a cute smoky eye kind of way.
In all honesty, I do still end up with smears at the outer lashes with his one, but in some way, it’s completely worth it. My lashes do look longer, fuller and the formula holds my lashes’ natural curl exceptionally well. I love the dramaticresult and the mascara can be applied in different layers without any issues. If there’s one thing I don’t like about the Voluminous Lash Paradise, it’s that little clumps of mascara often end up in my eye during the day. But for this flattering effect, I’m willing to forget about that. Even in cosmetics, you sometimes just can’t have it all.
The Voluminous Lash Paradise/Paradise Extatic mascara by L’Oréal Paris can be found at the drugstore for € 13,99.
